Pediatrics Residency Application

Residency applications for the University of Vermont Pediatric Residency Program at Fletcher Allen are submitted via Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).

The Pediatric Residency Program at Fletcher Allen participates in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).

We look forward to receiving your completed application. Your file will be reviewed and candidates who are selected for interviews will be contacted. Interviewing generally begins in November and will continue through January.

Application Procedure for Graduates of US and Canadian (LCME accredited) Medical Schools

  1. All applications must be submitted via ERAS
  2. Application components and deadline:
The basic components of your application (the common application form, transcripts, and MSPE) must be received by December 1. Your file should eventually include your curriculum vitae, personal statement, MSPE, a letter from the Chairman of your Department of Pediatrics, and two letters from clinical instructors who know you well. At least one of the latter should have worked with you on an inpatient rotation. Successful completion of the USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 Exams is required prior to the start of all UVM Residencies. COMLEX Scores are not acceptable. We prefer that the results of the USMLE exams are available as part of the ERAS application prior to the ranking process (in late January) if possible. You may be invited for an interview prior to our receiving all of your letters of recommendation, but we will need to have all letters before entering any applicant into the match.
  3. Photographs are NOT required to complete your ERAS application. However, having a photograph on file is very helpful to us, particularly once you are scheduled to participate in an interview day. (Please note: ERAS does not permit programs to view photographs of applicants until the training program has invited you for an interview.)
