At the time of application, applicants are strongly encouraged to submit a statement of interest in our fellowship program by email to the program coordinator or in the ERAS Personal Statement. Once an applicant is invited to interview, we welcome any additional requests for special information, to meet particular faculty, or visit specific facilities or programs across the entire institution in order to tailor the interview to an applicant's specific interests.
Materials required from all applicants are:
Application
Curriculum Vitae
Personal Statement

Transcripts
A minimum of three (3) recent letters of reference from direct supervisors
Successful completion of both Steps 1 and 2 of the United States Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE)

Have a J-1 Visa or have a U.S. citizen Permanent Resident status. No other Visas will be accepted. (H1B are not acceptable.) The visa you hold at the time of application is the only one we can consider.
Have a current certificate from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG)
Successfully completed the Clinical Skills requirement
Have worked in clinical medicine in the United States within the last two years
NOTE: an observership does not fulfill this requirement
We invite one applicant at a time to come to interview. The interview lasts the greater part of one day and typically applicants find it convenient to arrive the previous night. The interview schedule is variable depending on the day of the week but involves meeting several faculty for at least a half hour each, lunch with at least one current fellow, a tour of the main facilities, and occasionally attending a conference or rounds. Due to the large volume of applications, we contact only those applicants we intend to interview.
We are committed to maintaining the integrity of the entire application process to conform to the highest ethical standards and to provide a personal, individualized, and informative experience for each candidate.
