How to Apply
Residency applications for the University of Vermont Dental Residency Program at Fletcher Allen are submitted via (PASS) American Dental Education Association Postdoctoral Application Support Service. The Dental Residency Program at Fletcher Allen participates in the Match- Postdoctoral Dental Matching Program, administered by the National Matching Services Inc.

The Dental Residency program is one year, and it is fully accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation as part of the American Dental Association. Prerequisite Successful graduation from an ADA accredited dental school in the United States or Canada.
Positions:
Four positions at the G-1 level - the position is for one year. The basic components of your application must be received in PASS by December 20.
Requirements to apply:
• Passed Part I, National Dental Board Examination.
• Current student or graduate of a U.S. or Canadian dental school.
• Report most recent TOEFL score in PASS Application.
• Report postdoctoral Dental Match Program Code in PASS Application. • Submit 2" X 2" photograph directly to the program (not to ADEA PASS).
International applicants must:
• Have a J-1 Visa or a U.S. citizen Permanent Resident status. No other Visas are accepted. (H1B are not acceptable.)
• Have graduated from a U.S. or Canadian dental school
• Have a current certificate from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG)
• Have passed Part I & II of National Dental Board Examination Successful completion of the ECFMG, including passing Parts I and II of the National Dental Board Examination is required prior to the start of the Dental Residency.
We prefer the results of these exams are available as part of the PASS application prior to the ranking process (in late January). You may be invited for an interview prior to our receiving all of your letters of recommendation, but we will need to have all letters before entering any applicant into the match. Your application will not be able to be considered unless you are able to fulfill all of the criteria.
Applicant Interview Scheduling and the Interview Day Final selection for interview is made by the Residency Candidate Review Committee and invitations are sent to selected applicants. Candidate interviews are held Fridays during November, December and January.
On interview day you will tour the clinical facilities, the hospital and interview with Dr. Kevin Risko, Program Director and Dr. Paul Danielson, Associate Professor and Division Chief of Dentistry at University of Vermont College of Medicine/Fletcher Allen. You will meet with our current residents at a gathering the night before and at lunch on interview day.
